Education Minister Michelle McIlveen has officially opened the new £ 7million Enniskillen Model Primary School.
The new build 14 class school includes a language center, specialist rooms for special needs pupils and extensive playground areas.
Minister McIlveen said: “This is a great day for everyone at Enniskillen Model Primary School and the wider community in Enniskillen. The new school provides much needed, state of the art accommodation for current pupils and future generations.
“This has been a significant investment worth in excess of £ 7million. I wish everyone associated with the school every success as they embark on a new chapter at the Enniskillen Model.”
The state-of-the-art two storey building design incorporates the old District Office, which was part of the original school built in 1867.

No School Places For 300 Children With Special Educational Needs
Sinn Féin has called on the Minister of Education and the Education Authority (EA) to ensure children with special educational needs and their families have certainty over school places for September. MLA Pat Sheehan made the call after a report revealed that 300 children with special educational needs are without a school place for September.

SDLP Raises Concerns Over Education Authority
The SDLP is urging the Education Minister to introduce the recommendations of the Education Authority (EA) review as soon as possible. SDLP Education Spokesperson Daniel McCrossan made the call after a review was published on Wednesday, with 13 recommendations to address a multitude of problems within the organization.

Unite Hits Out At Caterpillar
Unite the union has hit out at a firm “burning through” cash on rooms that cost up to £ 850 a night rather than pay workers fairly. Manufacturing company Caterpillar has been paying for the strike-breakers it brought to Northern Ireland to stay in five star luxury, according to Unite.

Pupils To Be Provided With Information Ahead Of Exams
Pupils taking GCSE, AS and A Level qualifications will be provided with advance information ahead of the exam. Education Minister Michelle McIlveen has outlined arrangements for awarding CCEA qualifications in 2023. The Minister also announced a £ 2million Qualifications Support Program to further support pupils preparing for exams next year.

The SDLP called for an urgent review of the mileage allowance for domiciliary care workers and other HSC staff. Mr Colm McGrath raised concerns in light of soaring fuel costs with diesel prices hitting over £ 2 per liter at some filling stations in NI.

Investigation Launched After Shot Fired At House In L’Derry
Police have launched an investigation after the shot was fired at a house in Elon Dara, L’Derry, in the early hours of Tuesday, June 21. Detectives received a report at 12.20am that around 15 to 20 minutes earlier it is believed a hot had been fired causing damage to the front door of the house.
